We operate a domestic transportation fleet of over 2,700 barges and 130 tow boats as well as a number of facilities that provide a full range of marine transportation support services. These services include marine repairs, port services, terminal services, and environmental and regulatory consulting services.
ACL also operates America’s largest single-site inland shipbuilding and repair facility, which occupies approximately 68 acres of land and 5,600 feet of frontage on the Ohio River in Jeffersonville. Here, we design and manufacture barges and other vessels for third-party customers and for our transportation business. We also provide complete dry-docking capabilities and full machine shop facilities for repair and storage of towboat propellers, rudders and shafts. The Company is committed to research and development to create solutions to advance the marine transportation industry.
